If you want to bring your clients, artists or friends along for a session, we offer a (very small) slice of the good life. Or maybe you just need a private office while you’re here. We got you covered.
We’re a small studio with a kitchen but no chef. We do, however, have an extensive collection of take-out and delivery menus from nearby eateries. Jason’s has a nice pastrami sandwich (though it’s nothing on Katz’s), and everything at Bambinelli’s is good.
We’ve reserved a private office for client use while visiting the studio. It comes complete with a computer (it’s a Mac - that’s all we have around here), a phone, a desk, a sofa, an extensive library (in case you want to read the Shelby Foote Civil War series or the Aubrey/ Maturin books) and even an AM/FM radio if you want to catch the game old-school style.
We’ve had some exercise gear back in the studio for about ten years now (ever since Marshall’s wife asked him to remove it from the den). It includes an exercycle, a treadmill, a weird rowing machine, a bench, a couple of barbells, assorted dumbbells and a Blu-ray player and HDTV. Marshall actually uses it a couple of times a week (though you wouldn’t know it to look at him). If you want to go back there and work out the kinks or work up a sweat, feel free. During the summer, we pretty much guarantee the sweat.
If you have a gym (or if you pull all-nighters sometimes), it sure is handy to have a shower. Fortunately, this one was here when we moved in all those years ago. We’re pretty sure we couldn’t justify the expense of installing one - we spend our money on things that make better videos for you. But it’s there, and it’s clean, and we even have a supply of towels for you. Just like the finest hotels. And most of the cheap ones, too.
One of the nice things about having a conference room with a blu-ray player, an HD projector and surround sound is, well, you have a conference room with a blu-ray player, an HD projector and surround sound! And microwave popcorn, of course. Our original plan was to have movie night once a week. I think we may have done it twice. Still trying to get the hang of that work/life balance thing.
